VIETNAM HIGH-LEVEL ECONOMIC FORUM – FRENCH LANGUAGE IN HANOI
Following the success of the Francophone Business Forum held in Ho Chi Minh City, HoaBinh Events is honored to accompany the Vietnam – Francophone High-Level Economic Forum taking place on March 24 in Hanoi.
Attending the forum were representatives of ministries, departments, branches and more than 160 Vietnamese organizations and businesses. On the Francophone side, there were Ms. Louise Mushikiwabo, General Secretary of Francophone, Ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic agencies, Francophone organizations and nearly 100 organizations and businesses from 24 Francophone countries in the world.
Speaking at the opening of the forum, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son emphasized that with the motto of economic diplomacy to serve development, taking localities, businesses and people as the service centers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is determined to focus on the goal of attracting resources and promoting economic cooperation, trade, investment, imports and exports, serving the country’s socio-economic development.
The Minister affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to create conditions, support and encourage foreign businesses to explore opportunities and establish investment and business activities in Vietnam, as well as Vietnamese businesses. Minister Bui Thanh Son also affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to participating and promoting cooperation and solidarity in the Francophone bloc, welcomed the efforts of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) in promoting economic cooperation among member countries, and chose Vietnam as the first destination of a series of activities of the business delegation to promote cooperation. Francophone economic and trade cooperation.
Ms. Louise Mushikiwabo welcomed Vietnam’s achievements in international economic integration and Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control. Affirming that economic cooperation in the Francophone space has great potential, OIF is synchronously implementing strategies and projects to contribute to realizing these potentials, thereby serving the further benefits of member countries, people and businesses. OIF will do its best to connect Vietnamese businesses with Francophone businesses, especially in the fields of agriculture, digital products and services, sustainable energy, and renewable energy.
Speaking at the forum, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh emphasized the importance of the Vietnam – Francophone High-Level Economic Forum in contributing to global economic recovery and economic development – societies of countries.
The Permanent Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that, with the participation of the entire political system, the joint efforts of the business community and people, and the support of the international community, Vietnam has gradually overcome many difficulties. socio-economically, moving to a phase of safe, flexible adaptation and effective control of COVID-19. Up to now, Vietnam’s economy has had many positive changes, the macro economy remains stable, and major balances in budget revenue and expenditure, import-export, and energy are guaranteed.
Stating that the fields of agriculture, clean energy, sustainable energy, digitalization, and digital transformation are areas where Vietnam has advantages and needs great international cooperation in the coming years, Deputy Prime Minister Thuong said. Directly requesting, the forum focuses on in-depth discussions on: Vietnam’s guidelines, policies, strategies, recovery plans, socio-economic development and international integration, especially in important areas. The main focus of the forum is assessing the investment and business environment in Vietnam, sharing experiences and lessons on investment and business cooperation, attracting capital and technology, and thereby identifying opportunities for cooperation and construction.
Long-term, sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships. At the same time, the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister also requested that delegates exchange and propose recommendations and solutions related to improving institutions and policy mechanisms in areas of concern to contribute to improving the environment. Investing and doing business in Vietnam is increasingly attractive to foreign businesses, including French-speaking businesses.
Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh said that the Francophone economic space, with a population of about 1.2 billion people and accounting for 16% of GDP and 20% of global trade, has great potential and still has a lot of room. to promote cooperation more deeply and widely; expressed confidence that Francophone economic cooperation will become increasingly effective and reach new heights.
The Permanent Deputy Prime Minister also affirmed that Vietnam will continue to strongly support and proactively participate in efforts to strengthen economic cooperation for the prosperity and sustainable development of Francophone countries.
The Vietnam – Francophone High-Level Economic Forum was held on the occasion of the Francophone General Secretary’s official visit to Vietnam and within the framework of the activities of the Francophone economic and trade promotion delegation to Vietnam from September 21 to March 26, 2022. This is the first in a series of economic and trade promotion delegations organized by Francophones to strengthen economic cooperation among member countries.
